Rezumat

Е. Nica's report "Bessarabian "zemstva"'s practice regarding the exile to Siberia based on the community assemblies' sentences" examines for the first time the involvement of the local public administration (zemstvo) in solving different issues concerning the local population, including the thelt of livestock. According to several cases in Lozova and Carpineni villages under Chisinau zemstvo, there was reduced the red tape for passing community assembly sentences, so as to evict any of its members deemed harmful. These "vicious individuals" were exiled at the expense of the zemstvo while their families refused to join them. Also the author has estabilished that the local public administration's expenditure for this purpose was constantly curtailed and finally the item's name was changed.
