Studiul abordează problema pieselor sculpturale zoomorfe descoperite în cadrul necropolelor culturii Usatovo. Repertoriul vestigiilor cuprinde 19 piese provenite din necropolele de la Usatovo, Grigoriopol, Nicolscoe şi Krestovaja Mogila. Este prezentată şi clasifi carea sculpturii zoomorfe, incluzând două tipuri distincte a câte trei variante fi ecare. Sculptura zoomorfă a fost descoperită în diferite contexte: ringuri de piatră, gropi de cult, acoperământul gropilor sepulcrale, mantaua tumulară. Este abordată şi problema cultului taurului, particularităţile acestuia fi ind evidenţiate în credinţele religioase ale culturii Usatovo.

Монументальная зооморфная скульптура усатовской культуры. В предлагаемой работе рассматривается проблема археологических комплексов с монументальной зооморфной скульптурой, открытых в результате исследования погребальных сооружений Усатовской культуры. Свод источников включает в себя 19 скульптурных изображений, найденных в результате раскопок древнейших курганов в Усатово, Григориополе, Никольском и Крестовой Могилe на территории Северо-Западного Причерноморья. Приводится классификация зооморфных изваяний, преимущественно представленных изображением быка, где выделяются два основных типа, подразделяющихся на три основных варианта в каждом. Зооморфная скульптура была открыта в различных контекстах: в каменных кромлехах, в перекрытии захоронений, в культовых ямах, в насыпях курганов. Рассматривается также проблема культа быка, присутствующая в религиозных культах и верованиях культуры Усатово и древнейших скотоводческих племен северопричерноморских степей.

Monumental zoomorphic sculpture of the Usatovo culture. This article consideres the problem of the archaeological complexes with monumental zoomorphic structure, discovered during the excavations of the Usatovo culture funeral sites. Our database includes 19 sculptures, unearthed in ancient tumuli in Usatovo, Grigoriopol, Nikols’koe and Krestovaya Moghila from the North-West Pontic region. A classifi cation of zoomorphic representations has been made. Most of these sculptures depict a bull. Two main variants, each consisting of three main types, have been traced. The context of the fi nds vary: the zoomorphic sculptures have been found within stone cromlechs, among the stones placed above the graves, in cultic pits, in the earthen mounds of the barrows. An emphasis is being made on the question about the existence of the bull-cult within the religious cults and beliefs of the Usatovo culture and the most ancient stock-breeding tribes from the steppes of the Northern Pontic region.
