Rezumat

After the fall of the Soviet Union, the Republic of Moldova, Azerbaidjan and five Central-Asian ex-soviet republics have found themselves in a new geopolitical and geostrategic environment, characterized by the fundamental changes in the world during the establishment of a new international and regional order. The steps of the establishing of the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the ex-soviet actors from South Caucasus and Central Asia were marked by fluctuations, although the potential for cooperation with these countries has shown to be substantial, especially since they were part of the CIS. However, Azerbaidjan tends itself to become a subregional center of power, its aspirations were based on the necesity of energy resources. In this context, the bilateral relations of the Republic of Moldova and Central-Asian republics, having a common past, were marked a fluctuant interest. Being within the epicenter of instability, the dynamics of events in Central-Asian countries reflects in a consistent form and it will continue to influence the stability at the subregional level. Under these conditions, the well-defined national interests allow to choose a justified strategic perspective of the state development, as well as to develop the bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and these countries. Taking into consideration the regional characteristics, it may contribute to identify and implement in the best way the state resources to ensure the national interests. The international experiences allows the Republic of Moldova, Azerbaidjan and Central – Asian states to integrate successfully into the regional community, providing majority of actors the opportunity to take an common type of relationship, and the establishment of the direct relations with these countries complies with the principle of multi-vector foreign policy of the Republic of Moldova.
