Rezumat

The present article analyzes the phenomenon of totalitarianism reflected in Vladimir Besleaga’s novels. The writer transfigures in the text the ideological conflict between the members of the society who endured a politically organized disarrangement. In a general view, the protagonists of Besleaga’s novels are obfuscated by the avatars of the totalitarian pseudo-reality, enforced values, fabricated truth and erroneous perceptions of life. The world of violence, inhumanity, the defective family and community relations cause the heroes’ identity crisis whose meaning is expanded to the identity problems of the whole Bessarabian nation. The totalitarian world’s vestiges encoded in the novels’ texture can be revealed by means of intercepting the dialogue of politic, historic, philosophical, existential conceptions and ideologies reverberated in the characters’ voices.
