The article focuses on the problem international relations in G.Hegel’s philosophy. The important connection between spheres of state and international right in Hegel’s “Philosophy of right” is explicated. The analysis shows that Hegel’s understanding of international right is greatly influenced by the specific of his understanding of the essence and role of the state as a sovereign. This understanding can be interpreted as an application of important for Hegel problem of subjectivity to the sphere of political philosophy. The importance of the problem of recognition by the other states as a constitutive element of the state sovereignty is analyzed. The Hegel’s critique of the ideas of interpretation of union of states, international organizations and possible world state as the possible subjects of international right is reconstructed. The heuristic potential of Hegel’s ideas for understanding of the contemporary problems of international relations (connected to the processes of globalization and crisis of modern model of nation-state) is explicated.
