Financial education can be seen as a cornerstone of economic development. It is therefore important to study how the need for this type of education is understood as well as how the various relevant institutions treat it. For this, we briefly review the links between financial literacy and economic growth. We then look at the different types of institutions within Romania that could contribute to adjusting the level of financial literacy of the population. The attention is focused towards academic institutions and those operating in the financial system. Following this analysis, we make a brief comparison with the situation in this field found in other countries. |
