The article analyzes the Enlightenment values valued through the artistic works in comparison with those from present time (the eulogy of reason, free mind, knowledge, emancipation, work, belief in progress, cosmopolitism etc.) and proves that in the contemporary post-industrial society which is a society of high technologies these ones did not lose their importance, of course being interpreted in accordance with the new circumstances of the period. The author worked with masterpieced signed by Goethe, Voltaire, D. Defoe, J. Swift and others.
