Between French and English, English tropism is certainly present, but English does not save the world. Without being anglophobe or francophobe, in the era of globalization it should enhance learning of difference. Translation (and interpretation) can also be a channel, but must it still become imprinted deeply in the language and thought of the Other? A translation should be able to make this difference obvious not only in language, but also in culture. In the twentieth century, there appeared a problematic of translation related to language and languages and comprising several horizons. The globalization of the twentieth century set more and more in contact groups and individuals of different languages which led to increasing translations of works and to developing of translation theory. To advance my remarks on literary and poetic translation, I will use excerpts of translation from the book of poetry Ce soleil percera-t-il les nuages? by Najib Redouane (Montréal: Éditions du Marais, 2009) and its translation in English Will this Sun Break through the Clouds? Performed by Abby Héraud and Mary Mcgiven (Rome: Aracne éditrice, 2011).

Sans être anglophobe ou francophobe, à l'ère de la Mondialisation il faut valoriser l'apprentissage de la différence. La traduction (et l'interprétariat) peut être aussi un canal, mais faut-il encore qu'elle s'incruste profondément dans la langue et la pensée de l'Autre. Une traduction doit être en mesure de pouvoir rendre évidente cette différence non pas langagière, mais culturelle. Au XXe siècle est apparue une problématique de la traduction liée au langage et aux langues et qui comporte plusieurs horizons. La mondialisation du XXe siècle a mis de plus en plus en contact des groupes et des individus de langues différentes faisant accroître les traductions des oeuvres et la théorie de la traduction. Pour avancer mes propos sur la traduction littéraire et poétique, je m'appuierai sur des extraits de traduction du recueil de poésie Ce soleil percera-t-il les nuages ? de Najib Redouane (Montréal: Éditions du Marais, 2009) et sa translation en anglais Will this Sun break through the clouds? faite par Abby Héraud et Mary Mcgiven (Rome: Aracne éditrice, 2011).
