Rezumat

From his very first novel, Alone in Front of Love (Singur în faţa dragostei),from 1966, Aureliu Busuioc showed a reliable intuition of novel’s specificity as a highly epical distinctive structure. Besides masterly designed and interestingly sketched characters, Radu Negrescu and Viorica Vrabie, his work put in front the reader two ways of being human, two distinct views on life. Such an adequate understanding of the novel is characteristic of the author’s other works as well, especially for those entitled Uncle from Paris (1973) and Prowlers’ Chronicle (2006). In 2011 the writer published an exciting love story – And it was night... – which, despite the topic somewhat intimate and personal, deserves the subtitle of a novel due to the author’s wide opening to some key issues of human existence. This study is an attempt to cover the whole contribution of the writer in the field of the novel.
