Rezumat

The Gagauz are a Cristian-Ortodox Turk people lived in Moldova. Smaller Gagauz can also be found in Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. But the Republic of Moldova is as much their homeland, when they have achieved the autonomy statute. Gagauz-Yeri, the land of Gagauz, is relativily a young autonomous terotorial unit in Moldova and was served a model for the solution of the conflict with separatist mouvement in Moldova. The main aim of this article is to analise the etnopoliticlal evolution of Gagauz people lacated primarily in the soutern part of what is today the Republic of Moldova. To achieve this aim, the study consist of several parts: the subject of Gagauz ethnogenesis; the socio-historical background of the Gagauz location in the Moldovian area; the Gagauz conflict and its solution trought the Autonomie Statute. Finnaly, different options will be discussed for addressing current issues in the function of the Gagauz Autonomy and his legal basic.
