Peculiar for the three booklets (”Paternal home”, “Incantations with white and black”, ”Melodics”) written by Dumitru Matcovschi, which appeared in a literary and artistic agitated period, is the showiness of folklore and rusticity. Dumitru Matcovschi folklorizes on purpose. The restraint and closing in the miniature universe ”from home” has other meanings than enchanting the senses or self-and world -oblivion. This miniature universe is not meant for relaxing and giving up, but for a concentration on a vital paradigmatic essence and spiritual invigoration. But he doesn’t reveal this aspect without making use of his negative referential- the great torturer, his „tricky” and destructive antithesis, the foreign,heteronymous and „historical” element, in other words, without the challenges of an ingrate history.
