Rezumat

Science is the heart of technology and EU projects represent the key to Faculty collaboration in research and teaching. The language of science and engineering is mathematics and for this reason, it is necessary to encourage and help young people and pupils to cross all barriers of abstract language and to develop critical thinking that is so necessary to society’s development, in the rhythm of evolving technology. The aim of this paper is to present two results of the Erasmus+ project 2021-1-RO01-KA220-HED-000030286 about some advanced technologies that are used in teaching and research will be presented. Four partners from Romania (University of Craiova), Turkey (Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University), Slovakia (Matej Bel University Banska Bystrica), and Bulgaria (University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendardski) have worked together to write a book about their teaching experience during the pandemic and a scientific paper about how can be used Artificial Intelligence to forecast air pollution episodes or to calculate different correlation coefficients between meteorological parameters (temperature, pressure, relative humidity) and particulate matter concentrations (PM1, PM2.5, PM10), based on some sets of data given by the network of PM sensors from Craiova. Air quality monitoring in urbanized areas is important because air pollution affects inhabitants’ health without discrimination. The mentioned book has emphasized the role and place of SMART technologies to train students in physics and engineering, cloud technologies, integrative approach, and how to involve STEM students in research. Some ideas from this book and project activities are presented.
