Rezumat

The study deals with one of the conflicts in the post-Soviet space, its genesis, essence and typology. Within the sensitive ethno-linguistic processes, which led to the dismantling of the USSR and the emergence – on its ruins – of new independent states, this conflict was associated with a sharpening of inter-ethnic and international tensions. The centrifugal movements in the Soviet space, with a retreating metropolis and a rising periphery, produced the collapse of the Soviet Union, which manifested itself, indisputably, as an imperial, heterogeneous form in ethno-cultural relations. Thus, a new geopolitical reality was produced on the world map, involving numerous actors. The implosion of the superpower generated a conflictogenic reality, born of contradictions and conflicts, which had accumulated over the years, but until then deterred by Tsarist Russia or the Soviet Union by means of a colossal imperial infrastructure and dictatorial power. The Transnistrian subject remains current for the political world, for expertise, for the collective memory in the context of its lack of regulation, continuing to be a challenge to the security and stability of the sub-regional order.
