Rezumat

The period of transition always brings the growth of instability: society becomes more vulnerable, new social groups emerge, old ones disappear. All the existing contradictions, which were previously suppressed by the totalitarian state, now transform into a sharp conflicts of identity, interests or values. This article is an analysis of the Conflict of interests and the Conflict of values in Moldova during the perod of democratic transition. The Conflict of interests has in Moldova distorted forms, because even interests are not fully developed and articulated and have sometimes simply utilitarian character. The moldavian political parties as main opponents in this type of conflicts are also analysed. The Conflict of values in our country is characterised by the contradiction and inconsistency in the population mentality, by amalgamation of the old values, beliefs, types of political behaviour and the new ones. This fact leads to a paradoxical co-existence of democratic institutions and totalitarian values, e.g. paternalism. The influence of the external factors and the Transnistrian problem over the conflicts in Moldova is also examined. The authors conclude that the only way to unificate the divided moldavian society is to elaborate the national idea, acceptable for the most part of the population.
