Introduction. The concept map is a transdisciplinary learningassessment technique aimed at organizing logical and systemic information, by outlining the relationships between various concepts and ideas. Purpose of the study. 1. To propose a synthesis of the specialized literature and a descriptive analysis of the teaching-learning-assessment techniques and methods, which can be adapted in the process of teaching -learning specialized foreign languages, as well as medical language; 2. To teach the students how to learn consciously, effectively and creatively. Material and Methods. The research involved scientific documentation, synthesis, deduction by consulting a series of publications, analysis of motivational factors and final products. Results. The implementation of the „concept map” technique in the learning-assessment process of the language revealed the following advantages: 1. promoting active and conscious learning; 2. facilitating the understanding and knowledge applicability; 3. capitalizing and stimulating the students’ creativity and originality; 4. forming and developing the students’ critical and systemic thinking; 5. allowing the teacher to perform several types of assessments simultaneously: initial, formative, final, and summative; 6. encouraging team spirit. Conclusions. The concept map is a transdisciplinary teaching method, which contributes to a logical organization of information and sustainable learning. This method can be easily adapted to the teaching of specialized foreign languages and medical language. |
