Introduction. The modern educational approach, focused on the development of communication skills, approaches the contents in an interdisciplinary manner, thus facilitating the active involvement of the student in the learning/ assessment process by capitalizing on the knowledge and skills previously acquired. Aims and objectives. The Project Method advocates the individualization of the educational act by which it offers the medical student various possibilities to capitalize on his acquired intellectual potential. The project „Makers of a Golden History” has the purpose to raise the interest of foreign language students and medical practitioners towards the culture and traditions of the medical school of the Republic of Moldova and towards the biographies of the personalities who laid dawn its foundation. Thus, the student is encouraged to research, analyze, synthesize, associate, and make a comparison of the information in the Romanian language. Material and methods. In this study, the following research methods were applied: analysis, synthesis, deduction by research study of a number of publications by applying the project-based learning. Results. The presented teaching material was assessed on the basis of performance descriptors for languages. The students were also engaged in the assessment process being encouraged to evaluate their own opinions on the presented topics. Conclusions. Medical students, being involved in the project mentioned above have developed their communication skills in the Romanian language, by using their creativity, ingenuity and artistic imagination, and a variety of information sources. As a result, the final product constituted a video material. Thus, it has been proven that the Project, as an alternative method of interdisciplinary evaluation, has a real formative potential. |
