Background. Osteointegration of dental implants can be influenced by the level of vitamin D in the body, which has the role of regulating bone metabolism and bone mineralization by activating osteoclasts and osteoblasts. Objective of the study. Evaluation of the influence of vitamin D in osteointegration of dental implants. Material and Methods. The study includes 20 female patients aged 47-74 years, rehabilitated implant-prosthetic. Clinical and paraclinical examination, analysis of vitamin D and calcium levels, osteodensitometry and radiological examinations (OPG and CBCT), rheumatologist consultation, analysis of the scientific literature. Results. 24 dental implants were inserted. The analysis of vitamin D levels resulted in the following results: severe deficiency - 1 patient, moderate deficiency - 9, risk of deficiency - 8, optimal level - 2. Osteodensitometry was performed and was detected in 7 patients - osteoporosis, 9 osteopenia and 5 norm. Calcium levels in 12 patients are deficient and in 8 - optimal values. Postoperative radiological examinations after 4-6 months show osseointegration in all dental implants. A secondary stability greater than 45 N / cm 2 was noted during the gingival conformation fixation step. Conclusions. The level of vitamin D cannot be considered a determining factor in the osseointegration of dental implants, but it can influence the appearance of resorption and the survival time of dental implants. Thus, implant-prosthetic rehabilitation can be recommended for both men and women, at any age. |
