Modern globalization processes, namely the rapid spread of information and goods over long distances have led to significant cultural changes in the way of modern clothing. Today, the clothing industry is in some way conditioned by the mutual enrichment of technical potential and cultural traditions. In particular, this is evidenced by the transition of the population of democratic countries to wear clothes of the «european» type, in particular, such clothing is the most popular among the entire population of Ukraine. At the same time, among the population of Polissya there are often clothing options that combine clothing elements typical of different ethnic groups. Sometimes the rural Polissya people combine the simultaneous wearing of «prêt-à-porter» models with elements of traditional Ukrainian costume or its secondary forms. The combination of a business suit with an embroidered authentic shirt or a printed blouse and tunic is quite popular among the population. Today we can conditionally distinguish two trends in its development. The first is related to industrial production, the creation of uniform standards and the unification of modern costume, which in turn leads to a noticeable, and usually almost complete loss of clothing ethno-identifying features - the field of professional mass clothing. The second is with creative and individual rethinking of unified and standardized models of industrial clothing. Introduction of certain elements of traditional folk clothing or their new forms, which have been adapted to new ones and they continue to exist as components of modern clothing. The return to traditional methods of clothing design, which reflect the individual tastes and aesthetic needs of the rural population of Polissya, is gaining popularity. Thus, the interaction of professional fashion and folk art determines the modern development of peasant costume. |
