Background. Radon is responsible for about 50% of the total radiation of natural origin, thus marking its considerable contribution in the creation of the terrestrial natural background of radiation. The ubiquitous spread of radon and its implications for the development and development of bronchopulmonary cancer creates a widespread public health problem. Objective of the study. Health risk estimation, associated with radon exposure in Chisinau through the stability of radon concentrations in urban housing. Material and Methods. During the research, passive measurements of the radon concentration in the living rooms were performed according to the determination methodology, through the passive detectors Radtrack2, during May, in Chisinau. The data obtained were processed in the Excel and SPSS system, calculating the main indicators of descriptive statistics. Results. Based on the analysis of the results of measuring the radon concentration in the indoor air of the houses of Chisinau municipality, 265 houses were stabilized, the maximum registered value is 940 Bq/m3, and the minimum value is 10 Bq/m3. The following indicators from the descriptive statistics were based on the accumulated data, the average value recorded is equal to 144 Bq/m3, the median is equal to 71, the standard deviation is 173 and the modulus is equal to 12. Radon concentration up to 150 Bq/ m3 was recorded in 185, which is 70%, values ranging from 150-300 Bq/m3 were measured in 39 homes, 14.5%, and in 41 residential areas, and the radon concentration was over 300 Bq/m3, which is about 15.5%. Conclusion. Following the analysis of the data of the study regarding the concentration of radon in the air in the houses of Chisinau municipality, it is found that in 30% of cases the radon concentration exceeds the national / European reference norms. |
