The study „ACCESS TO ARCHIVES IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA WITHIN THE SPECIAL INFORMATION SERVICES AND MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRES ARCHIVES” tackles for the first time, a subject about the implementation of constitutional provisions on access to information in terms of access to archives.The first part examines the legal framework in Moldova regarding the archival collections, highlighting the following steps: a) Phase of nationalization of archives and theirs transformation to national heritage, b) Phase of ensuring the legal framework necessary for the operation phase, c) Phase to ensure international cooperation, d) Phase of developing and preservation archival collections. Later it examines the legislation of access to information and principles of organizing the Archival Collections in Moldova.The final part is addressing the organization and accessibility of the archive collections (special state deposits) of the Special Information and Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova. It is published the structure of these archives from these institutions, including files of victims of political repressions submitted in 2010 by the Special Information and Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the National Archive
