Rezumat

The purpose of this paper is to show that the efforts made by the Propaganda and Agitation Section of the CC of the CP (b) of Moldova regarding printed media, particularly newspapers, in the first half of the 1950, were aimed at continuing and completing the objectives established in the early postwar years: the transformation of newspapers in true Bolshevik propagandists and organizers in order to activate the masses to achieve the tasks set by the Communist Party and the Soviet Government. The concrete actions taken in this respect consisted in improving the circulation, volume and frequency of publication of the newspapers in Moldavian SSR, organizing a massive subscription to central and local press, and imposition of a strict control over the mass-media in order to ensure the increase of their political and ideological levels.
