In this article we have addressed to analysis on historical stages studying of a problem of the tolerance. The problem takes the beginning in sources of philosophical idea, and to this day is a subject of studying of representatives of the various sciences about the person - sociologists, psychologists, and teachers. Thus some semantic directions are allocated in understanding of tolerance: tolerance is understood as the patient, indulgent attitude to another person, as a position of the sacrifice, full donation yourself to another person, as the mechanism of adaptation to changing conditions of environment, as a necessary condition of society prosperity, cultures, each separate person. Besides some aspects of studying of the tolerance are emphasized, depending on a corner of scientific consideration of the problem: evolution -biological, social, ethical, social - psychological, psychology -pedagogical aspects.
