In the present article the author analyzes the new geopolitical environment that motivated
European nations to review their basic documents that refers to the national security. In this
context it is examined the reasons that leads the Republic of Moldova to adopt a new National
Security Concept. Furthermore the author analyzes the New Security Concept of the Republic of
Moldova in comparison with the Concept adopted in 1995 as well as with the previous version
that was elaborated by the experts during 2005-2006.
