The content of flavonoids and their antioxidant capacity from boxwood green leaves of different age, and from brown leaves of two years age during January and February was determined. At the ambient air temperature with values close to the suboptimal temperature (- 25⁰C) in the green leaves of different age flavonoid content and antioxidant capacity decreased progressively in the following order: > 2 years, 2 years and 1 year. During the winter period with extremely negative temperatures brown leaves, due to the significant accumulation of flavonoids demonstrated the highest level of total antioxidant capacity. |
