In the article is analyzed the situation of NGOs in Moldova, development trends
and major problems it faces. The analysis includes an estimate of human and material
resources currently available to NGOs, fields, relations with the state and private sec-
tor, other aspects of the associative sector. Data from the article are a synthesis of two
sociological studies in which the author participated. On the strength of the results of
investigation are developed concrete recommendations for improvement of the situati-
on, increase efficiency of NGOs activity and their active involvement in society.
