Background. Meckel's diverticulum at children is a sacular formation on the antemezenteric wall of the ileum. It has an incidence of 1-1.2% and involves multiple complications: diverticulitis, intestinal obstructions, hemorrhages and adenocarcinomas. The diagnosis is confirmed by scintigraphy and is treated sur Objective of the study. To present the difficulties of clinical-paraclinical diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulitis at children. Material and Methods. We present the clinical case of a 14-yearold patient, hospitalized in IMSP IM and C, CNȘP “Natalia Gheorghiu” for persistent abdominal pain and vomiting with the onset of the disease 48 hours ago. The presumptive diagnosis - acute appendicitis, being based on clinical, laboratory and imaging manifestations. Results. After a 2-hour operative preparation, surgery was performed by transrectal laparatomy on the right side. Intraoperatively, a normal check was found, with the appendix unchanged and on the ante-mesenteric side of the ileum at a distance of 80 cm from the ileo-cecal angle, a Meckel diverticulum with a length of 2 cm, with a wide implantation base. Surgical resolution - segmental resection of the ileum with the Meckel diverticulum. Histopathological - diverticulitis. The postoperative evolution was favorable. Conclusion. By presenting the case and the synthesis of bibliographic sources, we highlighted the problems of differential diagnosis between acute appendicitis and acute diverticulitis at children. |
