Rezumat | ||||||
In the present article, I develop several interconnected theses regarding the role of philosophical practices in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The first aspect I will focus on is the fact that, in the Covid-19 context, several individual and communal fears became visible. Isolation, as a way to face the threat, had as consequences a deepened emphasis on online communication, as well as the disintegration of a familiar lifestyle. On this background, virtual offerings of practices of the self, such as Socratic dialogue or mindfulness practices offered to persons who maintained the isolation and shelter in place policy the possibility to examine their own experiences and to develop means of facing loneliness, emotional difficulties or somatic experiences linked to disease. |
