Museum collections are constantly replenished through purchases, donations and archaeological excavations. The subject of the article is an important acquisition made by our museum in the first half of 2018. As a result of field investigations, in the village of Brânzeni, Edineţ District, six pieces of furniture were purchased dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Five of them: a wardrobe, a sofa, a chest of drawers, a chair and a wall mirror belonged to the great Bessarabian patriot and philanthropist Vasile Stroescu (1845-1926), who was born in an old Moldavian boyar family from the village of Trinka of Khotinsky Uyezd, whose nobility was recognized by the tsarist authorities. Items were purchased from Elizaveta Gureu, granddaughter of Gheorghe Tincu, who was the steward of the Brânzeni estate owned by the Stroescu family. The sixth item purchased, a dowry chest (“sofka”), belonged to the grandfather of Elizaveta Gureu, Gheorghe Tincu. Some of the objects inherited from Vasile Stroescu have already undergone restoration, others are in the process. They have great memorial significance, as they are associated with the name of an outstanding Romanian historical figure, and will occupy a special place in the collections of the National Museum of History of Moldova. Items from the legacy of Vasile Stroescu deserve to be included in the scientific and museum circulation.

В результате полевых исследований в селе Брынзень Единецкого района было приобретено шесть предметов мебели, датируемых концом XIX и началом XX века. Пять из них: шкаф, диван, комод, стул и настенное зеркало принадлежали великому бессарабскому патриоту и филантропу Василе Строеску (1845-1926), родившемуся в старой молдавской боярской семье из села Тринка Хотинского уезда, чье дворянство было признано царскими властями. Предметы были приобретены у Елизаветы Гуреу, внучки Георге Тинку, который был управляющим в поместье Брынзень, принадлежавшем семье Строеску. Шестой купленный предмет, сундук для приданого («софка»), принадлежал деду Елизаветы Гуреу, Георге Тинку. Некоторые из предметов, унаследованных от Василе Строеску, уже прошли реставрацию, другие находятся в процессе восстановления. Они имеют большое мемориальное значение, так как связаны с именем выдающегося румынского исторического деятеля, и займут особое место в фондах Национального музея истории Молдовы. Предметы из наследства Василе Строеску заслуживают включения в научный и музееведческий оборот
