Articolul reprezintă un studiu descriptiv detaliat și complex al unor specii de păsări din familia Phasianidae (Aves: Galliformes), care se adăpostesc în cadrul Vivariului Muzeului Național de Etnografie și Istorie Naturală, fiind descrise speciile din următoarele genuri: Lophophorus, Lophura, Crossoptilon, Syrmaticus, Phasianus și Chrysolophus. Lucrarea se axează pe următoarele aspecte: denumiri sinonime, identificarea, descrierea speciei, variațiile geografice, dimensiuni, habitat, comportament, înmulțire, distribuție și statutul ecologic.

The article is a detailed and complex descriptive study of some species of birds from the Phasianidae family (Aves: Galliformes), which could be met in the Vivarium of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, describing species of the following genera: Lophophorus, Lophura, Crossoptilon, Syrmaticus, Phasianus and Chrysolophus. The work focuses on the following aspects: alternative names, identification, description, geographical variation, measurements, habitat, behavior, breeding, distribution and ecological status.
