Based on cytogenetic study it was established the impact of Barley Stripe Mosaic Virus, alone or common with different doses of gamma rays on mitotic divisions in root meristems of two wheat cultivars (Arnaut 7 and Israel 1) and three barley (Sonor, Unirea and Galactic). In result of conducted researches, it was found that virus infection alone or complementary gamma radiation had a depressive action on cell proliferation, causing a significant increase of chromosomal aberrations frequency and potency of reactivity largely being determined by the particularity of genotype. Radioinduced effect was not dose-dependent, but was influenced by genotype-pathogen systems |
