The objective of this paper is to identify the definitions, specific terminology and typologies related to investments, these ideas being focused from an interdisciplinary point of view. In any type of economy, whether we are talking about the agricultural, industrial, postindustrial or the informational one, we cannot expect a development, if it does not have financial support. Investments thus represent that landmark or promoter in terms of contemporary economic development. The term "investment" comes from the Latin origin, which has the meaning of covering or dressing, and it was used in economic speech in the necessity of making a monetary effort in order to achieve its later goals. We can see that the origin of the term "invest" shows us what is the significance of this phenomenon. |
