Identity problem - Moldovan or Romanian? - returned to political discourse in Republic of Moldova. Political parties, like the Democrats by its leader in particular, but especially the socialist party programmatic exploits in political battles for presidential election in 2016. Identity is revived dispute in the context of choosing the vector of development of the country, although Moldova-EU Association Agreement was ratified and signed two years ago. Unionist parties and their candidates maintain this discourse. They promote „unity of the nation”, the reunification of Moldova with Romania with more consistency and determination now. For the first time in the history of 25 years of independence of the Republic of Moldova when witnessing an open confrontation of unionists and statehood on the subject. Through our reflections bring back the day, even sequentially, this theme of identity and otherness, inexhaustible by nature dynamic and contradictory.
