The article delves into the intricate process of learning chemistry in middle school classrooms, highlighting the importance of experimental investigation and characterization of chemical substances and processes in shaping students' competencies. Laboratory work and practice are essential tools in developing students' methodological skills, such as experiment planning, observation, interpretation, and data evaluation, as well as drawing conclusions. Special emphasis is placed on fostering adherence to safety regulations, thus contributing to the development of an ecologically conscious behavior in the use of chemical substances and products in various everyday situations to prevent risks. Safety regulations in the chemistry laboratory are crucial for protecting students and staff from accidents and exposure to hazardous chemicals. Adherence to these rules promotes a culture of responsibility and respect for personal safety and that of others. To facilitate the learning of safety rules, informative posters are used as visual tools to provide clear and concise presentation of relevant information. These are strategically placed in the laboratory to serve as constant reminders of safety rules and contribute to the uniformity and standardization of safety information transmission. Practical demonstration of safety rules by teachers helps students better understand how to apply these rules in practice and avoid accidents. Additionally, discussions and debates allow students to become more aware of the risks associated with handling chemical substances and to identify appropriate ways to minimize these risks. The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in learning chemistry facilitates the study of complex and dynamic processes and phenomena, offering new opportunities for learning and competency assessment. Online educational games and other open educational resources are integrated into the learning process to enhance students' motivation and engagement and to foster creativity and innovative thinking. |
