The article underscores the significance of the school, family, and society in combating gender inequalities and promoting an education that is equitable and inclusive. The theoretical analysis of the biological and cultural perspectives on gender emphasizes the necessity of leveraging both viewpoints in advancing gender education. The biological perspective views gender as influenced by biological factors, with biology lessons serving as a means of imparting scientific information about the reproductive system and the anatomical and physiological differences between sexes. The cultural perspective highlights how various cultures define and interpret gender differently and can contribute to combating discrimination and gender stereotypes by educating students about its diversity and complexity. The article emphasizes the importance of integrating gender education into biology lessons in high school, highlighting topics such as the biological influence on gender identity, sexual diversity, and human reproductive processes. Additionally, it proposes an action plan within an educational project promoted with eleventh-grade students. Gender education in biology lessons is not solely about content delivery but also about cultivating an open and equitable mindset, contributing to the development of a generation aware and receptive to gender equality principles. |
