The phenomenon of nationality-based discrimination in the Israeli employment market is known to all groups and communities of all population sectors in Israel. Many researches that were performed over the years have indicated the gaps, in all parameters, between the Arab population occupation and the Jewish population occupation in Israel. There are gaps in the rate of participation in the occupation market, for example, the rate of Arab women’s participation is particularly low. There are higher unemployment rates among Arab employees, their average income level, and segregation in specific employment branches such as construction, agriculture, and services among men, and education and retail among women. This article describes nationality-based discrimination in the Israeli employment market as a main factor of civil equality values, which is one of the basic values of a democratic and pluralist country, as the State of Israel would like to be presented to itself and the world. |
