We can see that globalization has lately increased the interest in the person, the media, where the large industries take full advantage, thus the phenomenon of consumerism has emerged. This is an incentive for open access to the population, improving the quality of life, the field of interior design/architecture is no exception.Requests create offers so that for a successful activity or rest it is necessary to access light in the ambient/artificial seal. Through this communication, we aim to analyze the role and distinctive features of the artificial ambient lighting as an important factor in achieving a successful interior space. Often, the interior environment regardless of its purpose has been realized with taste and loses its effect and value – the reason for opting for unsuitable lighting fixtures after destination, chromatic gamma, positioning, and typology. In this communication are analyzed the opportunities for light design, described the types of lighting, and the color of light are. For successful realization at the concept stage of the interior design project, the classification of bulbs and luminaires, and the effects obtained are specified. The development of the lighting concept and its practical realization requires knowledge of the quantitative, and qualitative objectives of lighting design. It is undeniable that a real challenge lies behind the design of qualitative lighting consisting of the development of the concept, the mandatory meeting, and compliance of broad-spectrum requirements through the use of lighting installations from an aesthetic and technical point of view. In conclusion, we must mention that light in all its forms is one of the most important components in the environment and one of the vital elements of man. If the natural lighting is not enough, designers go back to structurally designed artificial lighting in any ambient environment depending on its purpose. The scientific novelty of communication lies in the approach of artificial ambient lighting as a primary factor in the formation of utilitarian and comfortable architectural design. This research will contribute to a better knowledge of lighting and its peculiarities.
