This article aims at addressing the personality issue from the psycho-social perspective, the presumptions that have underpinned the personality theories elaborated by the representative psychologists, how we build ourselves as personalities. We have tried to capture the most important features of the concept of ‘I’ through several more relevant definitions, especially from the perspective of self-consciousness, thus forming a psycho-social identity that can be assimilated to a unifying representation of human existence.
