Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is a chronic, multi-system autoimmune disease that occurs predominantly in women of childbearing age. APS can be detrimental to the pregnancy and may cause adverse fetal outcomes Antiphospholipid syndrome is a disorder of coagulation that causes blood clots (thrombosis) in both arteries and veins as well as pregnancy-related complications such as miscarriage, stillbirth, preterm delivery, or severe preeclampsia. |
