Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows v. 22.0.
In rapid urbanization conditions is of great interest to study oculomotor activity, related to visual information and use brain processes, as well as studies of neural structures, which provide visual perception. In the conditions of the city, for the most part, there is artificial visual environment, which can be classified as uncomfortable (homogeneous and aggressive) or comfortable (Filin, 2006). 50 participants at the age of 20 without any visual system pathology were examined. The experiment was conducted in accordance with the ethical standards, represented in Declaration of Helsinki and European Community directives (8/609 ЕС). Vision-motor reactions were registered with eye-tracking using eye registration in infrared radiation range. Eye movements were recorded using iView X ™ RED (Remote Eyetracking Device), created for contactless oculomotor activity measurement. To assess the state of vegetative nervous system, simultaneously caused by skin vegetative potential (CSVP) and electroencephalogram (EEG) were recorded. The CSVP was recorded using a computer-compatible “VNSspectrum” device. The EEG was registered with “Neuron-Spectrum” hardware-software complex unipolarly from 16 symmetrical leads established according to the international scheme "10-20". Recording of studied parameters was carried out continuously, in a state of relative rest with the eyes opened (background) and while performing tasks for images of various comforts perception: homogeneous, aggressive and comfortable visual stimuli. Statistical analysis of studied parameters was carried out using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows ver. 22.0. We have discovered an increase in the number and decrease in the time of saccades and fixations when viewing images of modern buildings that create a homogeneous and aggressive visible field. Such eye movements correspond to the work of the human visual system in the search mode: the eye scans the visual space, seeks new information (the result of evolutionary development), but the brain receives absolutely monotonous information. There is a discord – the active work of the eye and the lack of new information for the brain. Our studies have shown that this leads to a decrease in brain bioelectrical activity, even in the visual zones of the cortex of the cerebral hemispheres, the intensification of the activity of the subcortical structures of the brain responsible for the formation of the emotional component. A consequence of this is the activation of the sympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system. It has a mobilizing effect on all organism systems. This reaction of the human organism is characteristic of the state of stress. Permanent or prolonged exposure to stress agents leads to the formation of chronic stress and the development of pathological conditions.
