Medeleni sarmatian cemetery is located at the left side of the road Chisinau-Sculeni, about 1 km north of the river Prut and 1,3 km north-north-east of the Medeleni village. Reported in the winter of 2015 during the reconstruction of the irrigation system in Blindesti, the site was partially investigated, by rescue excavation, this spring. It was explored an area of 864 square meters, there having been discovered five north-south oriented inhumation graves and a religious complex bounded by grooves and provided with entrance in the south. All the graves were disturbed in antiquity, skeletons being partially or fully torn. According to the inventory and anthropological measurements, the graves belonged to females people. From all complexes, stands the tomb 1, which was provided with a rich inventory, consisting of three pendants and 11 vestment goldapplies, 13 agate beads and a clay spindle whorl. The analysis of the inventory items with chronological value and of other objects confirm the dating of discovered complexes in the second half of the century I - century II AD. Regarding the ethnic-cultural affiliation, rite, funerary practices and inventory items plead for assigning Medeleni necropolis to Sarmatian antiquities.

Сарматский могильник Меделень расположен слева от шоссейной дороги Кишинэу-Скулень, примерно в 1 км севернее р. Прут и в 1,3 км к северо-западу от с. Меделень. Могильник был открыт зимой 2015 г. в результате реконструкции ирригационной системы у с. Блиндешть и частично исследован весной того же года. Раскопки были проведены на участке площадью 854 кв.м., в периметре которого обнаружено пять захоронений имеющие северную ориентировку и культовое сооружение, окруженное ровиком с отступом-входом с юга. Погребения были нарушены в древности, остатки скелетов найдены разбросанными по могильным ямам. В результате антропологического исследования выявлено, что все костные останки принадлежали женщинам. Среди захоронений выделяется погребение № 1, в котором найден богатый инвентарь, состоящий из трех подвесок и 11 золотых пластинок, 13 агатовых бусин и глиняного пряслица. Исходя из анализа погребального обряда и согласно датировке найденного инвентаря, погребальные комплексы у с. Меделень могут быть отнесены к сарматским древностям второй половины I в. Р.Х. – II в. Р.Х.
